value validation regex

Is [a-z_]+ too simple? Do enums sometimes contain upper case letters or numbers or more? --Zimtschnecke (talk) 10:01, 15 January 2026 (UTC)

  1. Sometimes enums contains hyphen "-" (barrier=full-height_turnstile), it is acceptable
  2. Sometimes also uppercase letters (man_made=MDF or service=driveway2), but generally it isn't recommended.

Thanks! Added the hyphen, as this is part of approved tags. Imho, we can omit uppercase and numbers for now, as long as there are no approved tags. Value validation regex is not enforced anywhere anyway, I think, so this is mostly a suggestion for new tags (if somebody even reads this item ;)) --Zimtschnecke (talk) 12:28, 15 January 2026 (UTC)
