The tag crater=yes was sometimes used to map a crater of unspecified origin. crater=volcano has also been used a few times for craters of volcnaic origin.
There may be several types of crater, be it natural or from an impact
For volcano crater rims the currently proposed mapping is:
- natural=cliff or either of natural=ridge, natural=arete plus
- geological=volcanic_caldera_rim
