information sign

This page describes a key prefix rather than a simple key.

The prefix drive_through:*=* is used to specify contact information so customers can make a purchase that is to be picked-up at a drive-through window.

Tagging

Use the same sub-keys as for contact:*=*, only if it is different from the same sub-key contact:*=* value.

Examples

Scenario Tagging Rationale
A restaurant has a phone number for ordering at a drive-through service, that is different from the one for general contact. contact:phone=contact phone number

drive_through:phone=drive-through phone number

Since there are two different numbers, specify them separately.
A restaurant only offers drive-through service, and has only one phone number. contact:phone=contact phone number

drive_through=only

Since there is only one contact number, use contact:phone=*, then mark the location as having no dine-in options (e.g. drive-through only).
A restaurant has a special website to order at their drive-through service. drive_through:website=https://website drive-through URL Since the restaurant has its own website, specify it with drive_through:website=*.
A restaurant has a SMS number exclusively used for ordering at a drive-through service. drive_through:sms=website SMS drive-through number Since the number is only for drive-through, do not use contact:sms=*.
