This page describes a key prefix rather than a simple key.

The prefix special_needs:*=* is used to mark the specialization of a special needs institution, often of a special needs school. These institutions often specialize themselves for a certain type of disability.

This tag was first used in the Belgian tagging conventions and was later adopted in other countries.

How to tag

Add the applicable special_needs:*=* tag to the element of the special needs institution. The exact key describes specialization. An institution can specialize themselves for multiple disabilities, so multiple special_needs:*=* tags may be added to a single institution
