It is common in some countries for use of trolleys (aka shopping carts) to require inserting a coin.

Usage

This can be tagged on an amenity=trolley_bay, or on a shop if trolleys are available inside.

The values yes/no can be used, or the type of coin(s) in a semicolon separated list. E.g. $1, £1;1€

History

The currency sign value format originates from Proposed features/Trolley in 2010, before charge=* and currency:*=* has establishing the use of ISO codes documented. *=£1 and *=1€, which implicitly shows the English and Continental grammar style of prefixing or suffixing the symbol, would otherwise be *=1 GBP and *=1 EUR.
