Mechanical Edits/Mateusz Konieczny - bot account/remove nepal earthquake 2015 spontaneous camp
Page content created as advised on Automated_Edits_code_of_conduct#Document_and_discuss_your_plans.
[out:xml][timeout:90]; ( nwr["damage:event"="nepal_earthquake_2015"]["idp:camp_site"="spontaneous_camp"][building]; ); (._;>;); out meta;
message via OSM I will respond also to PMs to the bot account, though messaging my main account is preferable as I will get notifications in OSM editors.
English and Polish languages are preferable, for other I need to use an automatic translator.
This objects are outdated, unwanted, incorrect, confusing and numerous. It makes editing harder for mappers, especially beginners.
I believe that in this case remote automated mass edit is acceptable as it removes clearly incorrect remains of organised mass edit (I would not run import of addresses or buildings in Nepal given lack of ground knowledge).
I asked on HOT mailing list and got confirmation that removal is acceptable and recommended.
Unknown, let me know if it is important to someone.
For example https://www.openstreetmap.org/way/341110446/history would be deleted
- Use JOSM Overpass query to download affected data:
[out:xml][timeout:90]; ( nwr["damage:event"="nepal_earthquake_2015"]["idp:camp_site"="spontaneous_camp"]; ); (._;>;); out meta;
- Locate cases with building=*, amenity=*, place=* etc tags and resolve it manually (happening already)
- Select geometries, ensure that tags are only for attributes of idp:camp_site=spontaneous_camp objects (it means that objects with also for example building=* will be skipped or processed manually).
- Delete selected geometries
Changeset would be described and linking to this documentation page.

I used https://community.osm.be/ to locate relevant communication channels, let me know if I missed anything.
Single run, will be not repeated.
Please write at bot approval thread . Note that in case of opt-out exactly the same edit will be made manually for objects where bot opt-out was used.
