OHM Project: Baden (Germany) (stage 1: scaffolding places)

The idea is to ...

• ... share sources for people mapping things in Baden
• ... map the history of place-names in Baden
• ... map the 2 (or more) oldest still standing buildings in each place, so there is a good starting-point for geo-referencing local/regional maps for further mapping projects
• ... for each building:
  • Map the objects by providing as exact as possible outlines of the buildings. This is important to allow for best precision when people use this data for georeferencing at a later point
  • provide start_date and end_date. If a precise year/date cannot be provided, add approximate start_date and end_date as best as you can and use start_date:edtf and end_date:edtf to specify what can be shown by the source
  • add links to:
    • Wikipedia
    • Wikimedia-commons
    • wikidata
  • link the various incarnations of a building with a Relation of type Chronology-Relation to improve findability
  • Stretch goal: see OpenHistoricalMap/Tags for info on good tagging standards
