OHM Project: Baden (Germany) (stage 1: scaffolding places)
The idea is to ...
- ... share sources for people mapping things in Baden
- ... map the history of place-names in Baden
- ... map the 2 (or more) oldest still standing buildings in each place, so there is a good starting-point for geo-referencing local/regional maps for further mapping projects
- ... for each building:
- Map the objects by providing as exact as possible outlines of the buildings. This is important to allow for best precision when people use this data for georeferencing at a later point
- provide start_date and end_date. If a precise year/date cannot be provided, add approximate start_date and end_date as best as you can and use start_date:edtf and end_date:edtf to specify what can be shown by the source
- add links to:
- Wikipedia
- Wikimedia-commons
- wikidata
- link the various incarnations of a building with a Relation of type Chronology-Relation to improve findability
- Stretch goal: see OpenHistoricalMap/Tags for info on good tagging standards
