Distance marks

The tags defined on this page will render in various nautical charts.

This page defines tags for the attributes of distance marks on waterways.

Categories

Category (CATDIS) seamark:distance_mark:category Definition
Not physically installed not_installed A point at which a distance from an origin along a feature is given for information, but at which no specific marker exists.
Visible mark, pole pole A point at which a distance from an origin along a feature is given for information and which is marked by a pole.
Visible mark, board board A point at which a distance from an origin along a feature is given for information and which is marked by a board.
Visible mark, unknown shape unknown_shape A point at which a distance from an origin along a feature is given for information and which is physically marked, but the shape of the mark is not known or not given.

Other attributes

Attribute seamark:distance_mark:<attribute> Value type Definition
Waterway distance (wtwdis) distance Decimal The distance measured from an origin of a river or canal.
Height/length units (HUNITS) units Enumeration This attribute encodes the units of measurement for heights and lengths.
