GeoHealth Lab is a research team in Geo-epidemiology based in Phnom Penh placed under the auspices of the French National Research Institute for Sustainable Development (IRD) and the Pasteur Institute of Cambodia (IPC). The team specializes in multi-source spatial analysis (remote sensing, epidemiological data, etc.) in the field of public health.

GeoHealth Lab uses the changeset comment #IRD_FR and #IPC in order to trace our projects.

Training materials and tools

For mapathons we mainly use the GeoHealth Tasking Manager. Beginners start with iD editor but we encourage and train our team members in using JOSM by organizing JOSM training sessions.

Data quality control

Once the validation is completed, we proceed to an overall validation of the entire mapping area. This additional step allows us to homogenize the data & tagging and to better organize the different elements that have been mapped, in particular the road and hydrographic networks. We used QA tools like Osmose and JOSM Validator.

Activity overview

Only the activities linked with OSM organized editing, i.e. editing the OSM database, are listed. Most of our projects also include a capacity building component, as well as data analysis (map edition, webdmap development), and often awareness raising on open data and collaboration.
