Proposal

Introduce a new tag oneway=entry to designate a street which is not one-way, but can only be entered from one side. The actual restrictions can (and should!) still be tagged using restriction relations, most notably restriction=no_entry.

Rationale

Some streets may only allow entrance from one side, but are not true one way streets as they lack the one way street signs.

Renderers may still want to display these as one way streets (or in a different manner) as for through traffic they act as one way streets. This may also help deter mappers from falsely making a street one way just because they see a no entry sign on one side.

Tagging

Tag oneway=entry if a street lacks oneway signs, but still only allows entrance from one side. The actual turn restrictions should still be tagged with type=restriction relations.

Examples

Rendering

Renderers may choose to render this in a variety of ways for different use cases. Some renderer may choose to render this identically to a oneway=yes, as it is one way for though traffic. On the other hand other renderers may not render this at all and could render the turn restrictions instead. Another possibility is a different coloured arrow as opposed to oneway=yes.

Features/Pages affected

Update oneway=* to include this new value and add new examples.
