List of possible plant descriptors

Some ideas for plant descriptors, i.e. to be used in combination with natural=plant, natural=tree, natural=shrub, natural=liana.

  • common_name=* - Describes the common name for the plant.
  • plant_type=* - Describes what type of plant it is (e.g. quillwort, mint, etc.).
  • flowering=* - Describes whether the plant is a flowering plant or not.
  • vegetable=* - Describes the kind of vegetable the plant grows (if it does).
  • fruit=* - Describes the kind of fruit the plant grows (if it does).
  • natural:frequency=* - Describes the frequency of appearance of the plant species, subspecies, or cultivar in question (for example: whether the plant is rare, common, etc.).
  • Red_List=* - Describes the IUCN Red List conservation status (if included).
  • NatureServe=* - Describes the NatureServe conservation status (if included).
  • pesticide=* - Describes whether the plant is contaminated with unsafe pesticides or not.
  • herbicide=* - Describes whether the plant is contaminated with unsafe herbicides or not.
  • edible=* - Describes whether the fruits or vegetables produced by the plant (or in some cases, the whole plant) is/are edible or not.
