Proposal:Remove link to Wikidata from infoboxes/misleading matches

Not really correct matches between OSM tag and Wikidata entries present in OSM Wiki and data items. All examples below were found in random sample of 100 tags with matched wikidata entry. If one deliberately looks at tricky tags it gets even worse.

Originally posted in discussion as counterexample for claim that wikidata matches are useful for translating meaning of tag.

If someone is interested in spending time on Wikidata editing and/or improving quality of matches between OSM tags and data items, feel free to fix listed issues!

After fixing them - feel free to remove such section.

matched to https://www.wikidata.org/wiki/Q1413824

Wikidata definition: "glassblower - worker in glass factory that blows bottles from molten glass"

is confusing at best as tag description, as wikidata and OSM Wiki describe distinct but related concepts. We are not mapping specific workers in OSM.

Wikidata definition: "tent - temporary building which can be easily dismantled and which is portable"

Wikidata describes meaning of "tent" not meaning of "building=tent" building=tent is only for permanent/long standing tents

place=city

Links to https://www.wikidata.org/wiki/Q515 which at the same time

• has quality
  • population 10,000,000±9,900,000 (so from 100 000 to 19 900 000 - while Pekin in China has population of over 20 000 000 and is also tagged this way)
  • Vatican is given as one of "model item" examples - while it is not a city, is not place=city and has population noticeably lower than 100 000
