Talk:Proposed features/splash pad

... vs. fountains?

Perhaps the proposal should explain where to draw the line between a splash pad and an amenity=fountain too. From the wikipedia description, perhaps a working distinction is that a splash pad is more for kids to muck about in and a fountain is built mostly for decoration. There's a overlap in use of course, and decorative fountains like [1] probably get used for both on hot days, so being able to say both somehow would be a plus. --achadwick 11:53, 20 July 2011 (BST)

playground=*

  • +1 from me for the playground=* form. It's suggested by Playground, and I seem to have done this myself intuitively for random playground equipment that's strictly outside a play area already: node 1280747125 --achadwick 11:58, 20 July 2011 (BST)

  • +1 Add another one today. What's needed to have ahttp://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/Proposed_features vote on this proposal? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Brianegge (talkcontribs) 2014-10-26
You would need to contact the tagging mailing list (see the page Proposed features for details). But I think this proposal may have been obsoleted by Proposed features/Playground Equipment or Proposed features/Key:attraction --Jgpacker (talk) 10:58, 26 October 2014 (UTC)
  • +1 from me for the playground=* form or "leisure=playground + playground=splash_pad for the area. About the previous comment (There's a overlap in use of course, and decorative fountains like [1] probably get used for both on hot days, so being able to say both somehow would be a plus.) a tag to the node or area with amenity=fountain could also be added.
