While the tag {{Tag|tourist_bus}} once originated from a translation of the Italian word „pullman turistici“, its meaning in OSM became that of a vehicle of the bus vehicle class which isn’t acting as a public service vehicle.
The tag {{Tag|tourist_bus}} originated from a literal translation of the Italian word ''Autobus turistici''<ref>https://forum.openstreetmap.org/viewtopic.php?pid=703202#p703202</ref>, which can be understood as synonymous to coach. The tag was later (understandably) partly documented to also mean a tourist bus specifically, also in editors such as JOSM. Because of the lack of clarity, {{Tag|tourist_bus}} should not be understood as synonymous to this tag but only used, if ever, if specifically a bus for tourists is meant.
