A mural is any piece of artwork painted or applied directly on a wall, ceiling or other large permanent surface. Most often those are a pieces of (modern) street art, but there might be some historic murals as well.

How to map

Add a node node at the center. Alternatively, for more detail, map a wall mural as a way way connected to the building. If the mural is painted on a flat surface such as a roadway or sidewalk, you can map it as an area area instead.

Add the tags tourism=artwork and artwork_type=mural. If known, add date of creation and artist name.

If the mural has some historic value and/or does not belong to modern street art, consider adding historic=yes.
