This tag is used on waterways, especially natural ones, which, for any reason, can have its flow reversed. It can be, for instance, because the waterway is linked to an estavelle, or because it is in a tidal zone. This tag was already in use before having been approved by a sinkhole-related proposal, and can be used for unrelated waterways.

Example

For the waterway connecting the Chahalot to the Trou des Glanes, the tagging would be this one:
