forklift=* is used to describe the legal access for forklifts. See access=* for an introduction to tagging access rights.

If the tag forklift=* is not present on a way, the assumed default is either yes or no depending on the laws in that country.

It is only worth tagging if there is an sign explicitly stating the access rights for forklifts.
