Main article: Simple Indoor Tagging

The tag indoor=area is used to map indoor areas (such as a  Hall) whose boundary is not represented by walls, as opposed to indoor=room which is meant to map an indoor space enclosed by walls.

How to map

Draw as an area along the area's outline. Tag it with indoor=area and level=*

Note: A closed way only tagged with area=yes and name=* means the feature should be interpreted as a polygon in OSM, but if there aren't other tags that define the kind of thing it is considered incomplete mapping (just like a node with just a name and not other tags). See also: Key:area
