Beacons are common features on land and at coasts. There are often historic objects, dating from the time when fire was used as the signalling method. Beacons take the form of a pole, pile or small mast with a light on the top.

Many such objects may also be aeronautical airmark=beacon or marine seamark:type=* beacons, which can be specified by additional tags.

How to map

Add a node node at the centre and tag it with man_made=beacon.
