The tag landuse=logging is used for areas where some or all trees have been cut down.
There is noticeable use in Russia, very minor elsewhere. Note that tag name is quite confusing and part of confusing topic of forest tagging. Tag name suggests that it is supposed to be used for forest with active or planned logging, while it is described as to be used for areas with cut down trees (clearcuts).
If there is vegetation present, add a suitable tag such as natural=scrub for bushes, shrubs and very small trees (transitional scrub) or landuse=meadow for grasses and herbs (transitional meadow). If the area is still mostly covered by trees, use landuse=forest or natural=wood. See vegetation for more options.
Additional tags:
- logging=clearcutting - all trees in an area are uniformly cut down;
- logging=selective_cutting - only some trees in an area are cut down (for example, sanitation cutting);
- logging:start_date=* - logging date (using the format yyyy-mm-dd).
