The tag network=e-waterway is added to a waterway route relation to specify a navigable waterway as part of the E-waterway network of international routes in Europe.
The pan European E-waterway network is a numbering system for navigable waterways in Europe administered by the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE). The network is numbered from E01 up and many of its waterways cross national borders. See unece.org
