In some places there are separate signed routes for wheelchair and mobility scooter-users

Usage

Besides route-relations , actual signed wheelchair-routes are sometimes also mapped in other ways, for exampleː

• a route=foot or route=hiking with additional tags for wheelchair=* (Ohsome 2024-03ː wheelchair=yes n=176 ; wheelchair=designated n=8 wheelchair=limited n=21) In the field these routes can be either signed for wheelchairs or regular pedestrian routes where wheelchair=* is added to describe practical suitability
• a route=foot or route=hiking with a mention of "wheelchair" (in the local language) in name=* or description=* n the field these might be signed wheelchair routes
• a route=foot or route=hiking with a mention of "wheelchair" (in the local language) in name=* or description=* in the field these might be signed wheelchair routes
• a highway=* with a mention of "wheelchair" (in the local language) in name=* or description=* in the field these might be signed wheelchair routes
