A sun shelter is designed to offer shade from the sun. Unlike shelter_type=weather_shelter, a sun shelter offers very little protection against weather such as rain, as the sides may be open and the roof is designed only for providing shade. Neither does it do anything to help picknicking, as a shelter_type=picnic_shelter would.
