This tag indicates that access is prohibited for all vehicles. It may be overridden by more specific access tags.
This tag corresponds to a specific prohibitory sign in the Vienna Convention on Road Signs and Signals, which has been adopted by many countries. There is no equivalent sign in the United States or other countries influenced by its MUTCD standard. Instead, selective exclusion signs list the individual vehicle types that are prohibited.[1]
