bicycle
specifies legal restriction for cyclists when used on roads and paths. For a barrier
, crossing, entrance
and ford
, it indicates if it is physically possible for a bicycle to pass; however, if there is a sign that specifies permission, that should be used instead.
bicycle=yes
in combination with a guidepost
, map
, entrance
or charging_station
means it is designated for use by cyclists.
bicycle
in combination with route=bus
specifies if riders can bring their bicycles with them on the bus.
bicycle:forward=*
and bicycle:backward=*
can be used if restrictions apply only in one direction - this is useful for example in cases where
would fit due to oneway obligatory sidepath.
In cases where cyclist may travel in both directions on road oneway for other vehicles oneway:bicycle=no
is used. In such case cyclists may or may not have a dedicated contraflow lane.
For mapping that way is passable for cyclists and other vehicles in only one direction oneway=yes
is used. In rare cases where vehicles can travel in both directions but road is oneway for cyclists oneway:bicycle=yes
can be used.
