Talk:Dracos import

Please don't...

... import any for the Tendring district of Essex. We found it much easier to use the Dracos site as a checklist to see if there weren't any we had already mapped and then go find them. I've had to email to point out where visitors to the Dracos site had located a postbox miles from where it actually was, but it wasn't pulling the correct location from OSM because a visitor to the site had already "provided" the information.

Anyway, we believe the Tendring district of Essex to be postbox complete (which is pretty much CO11-16 and some of CO7 if you can exclude those) - see Tendring(Essex District)/Postboxes

I think this import is a very bad idea - much better to assist contributors out and about checking where the *actual* postboxes *actually* are. This is a combination of a list of unknown quality with positioning attempts of unknown quality. Gravitystorm 16:32, 9 November 2009 (UTC)

Legal Question

Hasn't the Royal Mail claimed they own the data supplied under FOI request? -- firefishy 17:24, 9 November 2009 (UTC)
