Duplicates

"Since name was not used for matching, new elements may have been imported next to old elements with the same name. Won't do won't fix, the effect was small." - is it somehow hard to fix them? Or is it hard to detect such cases? Mateusz Konieczny (talk) 21:18, 10 June 2020 (UTC)

Thanks for checking. During my manual review steps I got a general sense that this issue occured infrequently, would be more easily fixed by a local, would not be a big problem for data consumers, and my time was better spent on other tasks. I'm going to do some analysis to see if I can verify my 'sense' with data, and post back here. Stay tuned!--Blackboxlogic (talk) 16:37, 11 June 2020 (UTC)

After much research, the short answer: Duplicate elements (by name) are common in Maine. I made the problem about 25% worse. I just now resolved the duplications that I created. But there are still nearly 1,500 pre-existing pairs of elements which I'm not interested in addressing Since that would take me about a week.--Blackboxlogic (talk) 20:48, 12 June 2020 (UTC)
