Seats = chairs or "seated capacity" sign?

How is this tag meant to be defined? Should the value be based on a "Maximum seated capacity" sign often found in large venues, determined by fire department codes? --Jeisenbe (talk) 11:20, 26 January 2020 (UTC)

Not to mention there is already the way more established seats=* and capacity=* tags. Although capacity=* might not work depending on the situation, seats seems totally appropriate. I see no reason why it can't be extended to apply to things other then benches. This seems like going with a particular tag just because it's a namespace. Instead of because it is the "best" tag for this. The addition of the word "capacity" in it doesn't justify going with a completely different tag then the one we are already using IMO. Whatever "tagging clarity" (if any) might be gained from it. Btw, I'd say the same goes for almost not used capacity:rooms that is suggested in the article. There's already rooms=*, with 28,000 uses, for that. Its pretty clear that this whole namespace thing involves a lot of finding "creative solutions" for things that aren't actually problems. --Adamant1 (talk) 09:24, 14 March 2020 (UTC)
