Unintended usage

Taginfo shows that this key is currently used on more than 800 nodes and also on some ways. This doesn't make sense, because it is only intended to be used on relations. How can we make people more aware of the intended usage? --Biff (talk) 16:54, 7 July 2013 (UTC)

I was intending to map my local traffic cameras as nodes because I don't understand why relations are necessary instead of a single tag to store the information. For example, see http://www.openstreetmap.org/node/105578272

I agree with Skorasaurus here, while Biff points out nodes have significant usage on nodes, in many cases a relation is overkill and simply adding enforcement on the node is enough. A bit like you can map say a playground as a node, but if you want to add more detail you can trace out as a way. Same for enforcement, first pass as a node is fine, but more detail as a relation can be done if you like. --Aharvey (talk) 13:18, 22 September 2020 (UTC)

Average Speed

Average speed cameras are common in the UK, typically used in roadworks but permanent installations are appearing too. For example, see http://a9road.info/. I would suggest enforcement=averagespeed could be used in this case? Spark (talk) 19:06, 7 December 2014 (UTC)

Should be better to treat it as a kind upper speed limit, ie instanteous vs average. ---- Kovposch (talk) 08:58, 23 September 2020 (UTC)
