Hole number for edge cases

Some courses are a 9-hole course (9 tee groups, 9 pins) but advertise themselves as 18-hole. More interestingly, though, there are courses where there are 9 pins, but more than 9 tee groups to create different holes while using the same pin. For example: the course for golf club 't Jagerspaadje in the Netherlands has two different tees for the first/tenth pin. Other holes are the same. How should these courses be tagged? --Dsfarc (talk) 09:36, 5 January 2026 (UTC)Reply

I suggest looking at our proposal route=golf HuggeK (talk) 14:58, 1 June 2026 (UTC)Reply

Remove the Requires leisure=golf_course to be able to use it on route=golf relations.

As discussed about a better schema in representing multiple courses in one facility, se linked post in Tag:route=golf. I suggest to move the Tag:leisure=golf course from required by this tag to a suggestion that it can be used togheter with Tag:leisure=golf course only if that faiclity only contain one course. This would not brake existing tagging practices and would encourage efficient retrieval of how many holes one course have. HuggeK (talk) 07:44, 27 May 2026 (UTC)Reply

@Chris2map It should not be required with leisure=golf_course on this, The template is bugged. See the wikicode that requires= is empty. HuggeK (talk) 15:03, 5 June 2026 (UTC)Reply
In this point the template isn't bugged. If you want to completely remove an entry / a parameter, you have to remove it on both, the template at the wiki page [1] and the corresponding data item [2]. The template takes the information from the data item if it is missing at the wiki page. --Chris2map (talk) 15:12, 5 June 2026 (UTC)Reply
