Redirect was the better solution

This page was a redirect to Key:ramp for over 10 years. Nothing fundamental about the tag (and the need to document it) has changed since then, and the total meaningful content is 1 sentence. I believe that creating tag pages for something that could be a paragraph or less on an overview page increases duplication without sufficient benefits and therefore makes the wiki worse. --Tordanik 19:37, 10 August 2021 (UTC)

The content and meaning is stable so unlike in say computer code duplication is not very harmful. Positive effects include fact that someone interested in meaning of specific tag does not need to read entire big page (yes, for me or you it is not a problem but for newbie or someone less familiar with wiki it is). Also, for example this enables extracting machine readable descriptions from OSM Wiki (though it is the least important and some prefer duplicating all infoboxes in data items - but it is used by say taginfo). But I am open to a wider discussion is it preferable to create such pages or to redirect them Mateusz Konieczny (talk) 16:15, 11 August 2021 (UTC)
