EIC codes for gas system

I'm planning to add EIC Codes of gas storage to OSM. I wanted to to use this key but then realized that these Codes are issued from ENTSO-G instead of ENTSO-E. Is this still the valid key or should we remove the ENTSOE from the Key and just call it EIC, because it would cover more infrastructure than electricity. So we would not have to introduce a new key for gas infrastructure. Ida david

Hello. I wasn't aware that EIC was shared between ENTSOG and ENTSOE. Do you have any documentation that could show it please? Reference manual is only branded for ENTSOE.
Can we find somewhere a list of approved ENTSOG codes?
It could be good news that EIC isn't ENTSOE only, we could change for a simpler key Fanfouer (talk) 17:41, 19 January 2023 (UTC)
Thanks for your quick answer. I'm just confused, as ENTSO-G is listed on the ENTSO-E Website as a valid LIO code. So it's part of your key or not? Maybe a specific example is better: I want to edit this place: [{"eic": "21Z000000000271O", "name": "UGS Rehden", "country": {"code": "DE", "name": "Germany"}, "type": "Storage Facility", a storage facility for gas. It just says EIC and not ENTSO-E, and starts with 21, which according to the website I linked is part of ENTSO-G. So we have two options: We rename the tag to ref:EU:EIC=* to make more clear it includes all of them, or I just add the EIC number for the gas storages to your existing key. What do you think is the better solution? Looking forward to your insights!
Thank you for details. I found out two additional elements: EIC definitions, provided by ENTSOE actually cover gas facilities (storage, LNG terminal...). It looks like ENTSOE included gas part in its own work so we're right with ref:EU:ENTSOE_EIC=*.
21Z000000000271O isn't a physical facility code. Z codes are for accounting points from market perspective. OSM is only interested in A, T and W codes which relate to physical part of networks.
I can't manage to find W code Gas storage facility code for Rehden place in approved code list. Where did you find 21Z000000000271O described as Storage Facility?
No doubt we will find suitable solution at last Fanfouer (talk) 11:38, 20 January 2023 (UTC)
I got the 21Z000000000271O code from downloading the gas storage Germany data via GIE AGSI API. It is also listed in the Approved EIC Codes file from ENTSO-E. I was planning to add all the code sfrom this API to OSM, so we can use it in a project to map OSM data to GIE data. We need a primary key for this to identify the facilities from the API in OSM, so the EIC seemed like a perfect match because it is unique. So confirming your research, I can use your key to add the GIE data?
Thanks. There is a problem with this facility: no W code that we should find matching this Z code. Look at Dunkerque LNG terminal for instance. There is 21W0000000000451 <=> 21Z000000000371K. Z codes sound like logical objects that can't fit in OSM in my opinion. We should find why Rehden hasn't any W code, that's surprising.
Anyway, we can acknowledge ENTSOG is a local registry for EIC codes and ENTSOE is the only CIR and then the single maintainer of these codes at European level. Fanfouer (talk) 15:20, 20 January 2023 (UTC)
