Reconsider with local namespace

Hello, I see this key as new, both on the page and on the OpenStreetMap usage. Is it possible reconsider it as ref:EU:PLC=* please? It will avoid any conflicts with other PLC refs elsewhere in the world. Fanfouer (talk) 12:58, 17 January 2026 (UTC)

Hello, Thanks for your remark ! I've taken care of choosing an unused key in the world to tag the Primary Location Code. This means that actually, there is no conflict with any other ref.
This tag is mainly used for railway sites in European Union but not only : Railway sites in Switzerland and Norway have this reference.
This is why I haven't considered adding ref:EU: prefix. Should I? Sikal (talk) 14:15, 17 January 2026 (UTC)
IMHO, yes you should. The local prefix not only ensure the lack of conflicts but also allow to get the expected area at a glance. Finding ref:EU:* in Switzerland and Norway isn't unusual as partnerships often exists between European union agencies and neighbor states. Fanfouer (talk) 23:36, 17 January 2026 (UTC)
Thanks for your explanations. I will change the key to ref:EU:PLC=*, modify the wiki and the 28 objects tagged with ref:PLC=*. Sikal (talk) 12:49, 18 January 2026 (UTC)
All the required changes have been made. These pages will be requested for deletion. Sikal (talk) 12:49, 18 January 2026 (UTC)
Thank you for quick handling of this matter Fanfouer (talk) 13:00, 19 January 2026 (UTC)
