electrified

(Sorry for the german you can translate it if possible.)--geozeisig (talk) 07:13, 25 February 2018 (UTC)

Google translate: "There may be linguistic overlaps. But at OSM, trolley_wire is applied to roads and electrified on railways. technically there is also at least one significant difference: trolley_wire has 2 wires and the track has only one (the tracks are the return conductor). Since the previous good rating, we should not aim for a change in this case. (Sorry, you can translate it if possible.)" Mateusz Konieczny (talk) 07:32, 25 February 2018 (UTC)
I removed cleanup template, I see no reason for it exists. Somebody who is not bothered enough by tagging issue to post on tagging mailing list should not edit wiki to add some horrible templates Mateusz Konieczny (talk)
Could someone please tell me the difference between a way tagged with highway=tertiary + electrified=contact_line and a way tagged with highway=tertiary + trolley_wire=yes? --Klumbumbus (talk) 10:21, 25 February 2018 (UTC)
No idea - is there some technical difference between wires for tram and wires for trolleybus? Mateusz Konieczny (talk) 22:41, 25 February 2018 (UTC)
contact line is like tramway, trolley uses kind of half-pipe which must be put under the line (electrical line goes into tthat "pipe")--przemas75 (talk) 12:51, 9 June 2018 (UTC)

Another question, in Gdynia (probably many other cities) we have trollebus with trolley wires, but also the same trolleybus uses batteris at the end of trolley line, i dont have a clue how to tag, osmi validator claims there is no trolley_wire, but this is ok, as vehicle moves using batteries... --przemas75 (talk) 12:51, 9 June 2018 (UTC)

In this case I would report overzealous validator at JOSM bugtracker using https://josm.openstreetmap.de/wiki/Help/Action/ReportBug Mateusz Konieczny (talk) 16:03, 9 June 2018 (UTC)
