please keep in mind, that copyright issues have to be respected - there is the famous set of sport icons designed for the olympic games 1972 in Munich by Otl Aicher - they are copyrighted. They are listed in a pdf-document: FSB-Hinweiszeichen.pdf. Possibly there are more copyrighted pictograms - we should collect the sources, which pictograms can't be used in open projects. I think this problem should be mentioned on the project page -- Schusch 07:14, 25 April 2008 (UTC)

I added a short section now -- Schusch 07:21, 25 April 2008 (UTC)

Maybe the place-of-worship pictogram should be amended such that it reflects the religion tag. It should be possible to make out the difference between a church, synagoge and a mosque. In some areas other religions can be of interest to be separated from others in a map.

Besides, use a christian symbol on place-of-worship is not in place as christianity is not the biggest religion in the world, except for geographical coverage. --Skippern 04:03, 9 September 2008 (UTC)

merge with Map Icons page

Well I don't want to merge cause this was a seasonal project and doesn't contain redundant informations anymore --!i! 13:09, 6 August 2010 (BST)
