Smaller Files

When I used this page I could not find out how to download smaller files and it confused me thoroughly. Therefore I have added a section on using smaller files. What do people think? Is it in the right place and does it make sense?

MapSource crashes

The instructions work like a charm for Computerteddy's EU tiles (thanks!), but not for the world-wide tileset @ http://osm.ammit.de/osm/latest/world.tgz

MapSendToolkit reports that it has been successfully registered in MapSource, but then MapSource crashes immediately with the following debug information:

Any way around this?

Substantially Rewritten

I've rewritten parts of this to add missing information, translate some Denglish, update current download locations (including archive.org!). It could probably benefit from a more thorough rewrite. SomeoneElse (talk) 19:30, 18 August 2019 (UTC)
