Why not?

What is the default access value of OSM objects? access=yes right? Anything in OSM by default a kind of accessible.

  • Is this park accessible? Yes, you can go there. There is no sign.
  • amenity=parking: You can drive there with your car. There is not barrier, no gate or anything like that. Yes, this car parking is accessible.

Yes, yes, yes... Yes, what????? Yes means in doubt nothing a all! Yes can mean that the usage of something is highly tollerated but not that something is really public.

access=public makes it 100% clear that something is really public. And all who think that this tag is obsolete then please simply ignore it. Ignore it because the default value of OSM objects is access=yes!

"What is the default access value of OSM objects? access=yes right? Anything in OSM by default a kind of accessible" that depends on object. Note say landuse=military or boundary=hazard + hazard=unexploded_ordnance Mateusz Konieczny (talk) 07:26, 20 October 2021 (UTC)

On tagging mailing list it is typical that people complain about any problem, issue or inaccuracy. +1 postings are rarely made. As result, lack of postings usually indicates agreement (with exceptions of completely and utterly incomprehensible or bizarre proposals that are ignored). But if you disagree, feel free to start a new thread there. I expect that overwhelming reaction would be against use of this tag @EinKonstanzer: Mateusz Konieczny (talk) 07:14, 20 October 2021 (UTC)
