However, please consider the warning message shown on the page: "OSM does not aim to be a land registry. You can add plot data if you want but only where the plot boundaries are actually visible on the ground. Do not import plot or land ownership data from third party sources." Are the disclaimers still valid?

There are 2 disclaimers on top of the tag with shouting warning signs, are they still describing the situation? OSM does not aim to be a land registry. → ok, understood, nobody said we wanted to, and it is also intrinsically impossible because we lack the authority and because owner information is not legally distributable for example in the EU. Is this really a warning, or maybe just a note? OpenStreetMap data should be distributable as free as possible. By adding parcels and informations about their owners and residents you risk that OpenStreetMap data falls under data protection regulations. → in general this warning is offtopic, because it is about mapping private data like owners and residents rather than the plot alone. Also, a plot is not a parcel. A plot usually consists of one or more parcels (particularly in areas with longer history, e.g. in historic city centers, it can be common to have very small parcels and several of them forming a single plot, but in new developments, it can be the contrary, a single parcel being divided into several plots (which then are probably legally registered as new parcels after the division). --Dieterdreist (talk) 12:31, 14 July 2026 (UTC)

It says they can be entered if they are observable on the ground, but should not be imported because “OpenStreetMap does not aim to be a land registry” (which is somehow unrelated, because a land registry says who is the owner of the land, and it is undisputed that we don’t map owners). —Dieterdreist (talk) 14:57, 16 July 2026 (UTC)
