- To make it worthwhile, we would need translators for several languages who are prepared to reliably do translations every week. Could you gather some names? Ojw 15:27, 2 June 2009 (UTC)

- That's possible. I think we should use the CURRENTWEEK variable to make it easier to handle. I'll do that and create a German translation. --abunai 22:42, 10 June 2009 (UTC)
- Ok, I think I got it figured out. It switch to Template:Iotw image/25 with Template:Iotw text/25 and DE:Iotw text/25 next week. The French page will show FR:Iotw text/25 if that page is created, and the English version otherwise. --abunai 00:31, 11 June 2009 (UTC)

- Yes, e.g. we could use {{CURRENTYEAR}}-{{CURRENTWEEK}} to have the year in the file name. The "template" thing is due to a MediaWiki weirdness. You can't have templates for namespaces, and you can't include pages from the default namespace. The other way around this would be to not use namespaces at all, but I don't think that's any better. --abunai 17:59, 15 June 2009 (UTC)

Index of translations: List of featured images
- I have added the CURRENTYEAR variable and moved your page to List of featured images. It should now switch to the next image automatically with the start of the week, so it's no longer necessary to edit Template:Iotw image and Template:Iotw text. (Or is it for the planet.osm feed? Languages
There are no suffix for other languages. I mean this line
