Addition of new route types

I'm concerned about some tags which were added to this table and the main Map Features page.

• route=tracks - this is similar to route=railway and both do not make sense, though the later is more common and should be preferred. These features are already mapped as railway=* ways, a relation is not needed except for the route=train service.
• route=foot vs route=hiking - distinction between these is not clear, and should be edited.
• route=snowmobile - new tag, should be discussed first. --Jeisenbe (talk) 04:40, 19 January 2020 (UTC)

Remove route=power

Resolved

1) It doesn't match the other types of route, which are all about transport of some kind. Note that the description on the Key:route page of the keys is "A customary or regular line of passage or travel, often predetermined and publicized".

2) The proposal for route=power appears to have been abandoned in favor of using type=power + power=circuit for these relations. See old Proposed_features/Power_routing_proposal/Tagging_similar_to_Transportation_routes and new Proposed_features/Power_routing_proposal.

3) route=power has no documentation (no Tag:route=power page or similar).

So I would suggest removing route=power from the list --Jeisenbe (talk) 07:27, 28 November 2020 (UTC)
