Biography

Brazil Singh is an Open Mapping Guru & Regional Ambassador of Youthmappers in the Asia-Pacific region, where his efforts have been instrumental in educating communities on the use of GIS tools and creating detailed, high-impact maps that serve people around the world. His deep passion for mapping has driven his active involvement in numerous projects and disaster response initiatives, making him a recognized figure in the open mapping ecosystem.

A dedicated advocate for open data, Brazil is an active member of the Communication team of OpenStreetMap Foundation and the Voting Member of Humanitarian OpenStreetMap Team (HOT), and he volunteers with the Open Mapping Hub – Asia Pacific. His leadership and community-oriented mindset have significantly contributed to the growth of open mapping across the region.

Currently, Brazil is working with a grocery delivery company to solve their routing and logistics challenges using OpenStreetMap (OSM) data. By applying his technical expertise to optimize delivery routes, he is helping improve operational efficiency while showcasing the real-world impact of open mapping technologies.

Brazil skillfully integrates his academic background with real-world applications, engaging in website development and specializing in WordPress, digital marketing, and community outreach.

Demonstrating a strong technical acumen, he has developed a mapping analytics dashboard and tools designed to filter points of interest, further reflecting his commitment to innovative spatial solutions. As an instructor affiliated with the Open Mapping Hub, Brazil has also dedicated himself to educating and mentoring others in the use of mapping tools and technologies.
