A flowchart for tagging access for barriers, based on inputs, consultations, and feedback from OSM communities in IDN, MYS, PHL, PAK in Q1-2024.
It is intended for general use, but especially helpful for less experienced or remote mappers, to help assess access values by evaluating available imagery, OSM data, Notes.
The flowchart is best understood after introducing the mappers to OSM's working definition of access tags, and more advanced mappers can simplify redundant tagging by taking advantage of group restrictions.
It's not perfect (especially without local knowledge) but may consistently handle the typical cases contributors can encounter during mapping.
