Wikibase registry

Thanks for adding osm wiki to the registry. Seems like it is not possible to create an account there. Please add https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Openstreetmap_logo.svg to it. Thanks! --Yurik (talk) 00:45, 19 September 2018 (UTC)

Hi Yurik, there is a Wikibase workshop going on in NYC right now — maybe you can sort out the registration issue there? Otherwise, ping AddShore on Twitter. In terms of the logo, shouldn't this be File:Wikilogo.png (or preferably a higher-res version of it)? If Sophox should be added as well, let me know. --Daniel Mietchen (talk) 23:41, 19 September 2018 (UTC)
Thanks for the heads up, definitely will stop by! The osm wiki logo has no license for some reason, and is not in Commons, so might as well use the main one that's stored on Commons. Sophox is down at the moment, hopefully will build it up soon enough. --Yurik (talk) 23:48, 19 September 2018 (UTC)
Done. --Daniel Mietchen (talk) 00:26, 20 September 2018 (UTC)

OSM activities

Dear Daniel,

is it really appropriate to edit the SWOT analysis page while having been done only 102 mostly small map edits?

Kind regards--Furusato (talk) 00:34, 20 January 2020 (UTC)

I think so. Judging from the various mentions of "new mappers", "new users", "new contributors", "new people", I also think that it might well be appropriate for someone to make their first ever contribution to the project by editing precisely this page. Knowledge about the project might come about in various other ways than through map edits made using a particular account. In any case, I have only made copyedits to the SWOT page, except for adding the QRcode that helps address language barriers about what a SWOT analysis is. --Daniel Mietchen (talk) 07:12, 28 January 2020 (UTC)
