Gyrbo,

Ik zou die kaart van Mechelen van een iets kleiner gebied maken, centrum + stukje ten Zuiden van Mechelen. Ondertussen heb 'k er een paar dagen geleden ook Keizer Karel bijgezet. Dat is misschien ook wel handig.

Is bij deze gedaan. Keizer Karel rendert hij niet goed omdat er "pub,restaurant" staat. Mss is het beter hier "cafe" van te maken? Ik heb voor de kaart dit tijdelijk op "restaurant" gezet. Bleek ook dat JOSM niet de laatste versie opgeslagen had, waardoor ik steeds een oude dataset aan het renderen was... --Gyrbo 20:51, 18 January 2008 (UTC)

Ik had dat er gezet omdat het een 'café/restaurant' is. Ik had begrepen dat dit de manier is om meerdere waardes voor dezelfde key mee te geven, maar ik was al bang dat de renderers het niet zouden begrijpen. --Polyglot 21:20, 18 January 2008 (UTC)

Er is iets vreemds aan de hand. Alle straatnamen worden afgekapt. De labels voor de Dijle staan ook nogal bizar geplaatst. Dat zal wel iets te maken hebben het feit dat 'k dat veranderd heb van waterway=river naar natural=water. Zo is het mogelijk om de oevers aan te duiden in plaats van de rivier. Het is een stuk preciezer. (Ook veel meer werk, maar goed, eenmaal ten zuiden van Leuven is het waarschijnlijk niet meer de moeite waard om het te doen voor de Dijle). --Polyglot 21:30, 18 January 2008 (UTC)

Zoals je mss op de mailinglist gelezen hebt zijn de afgekapte straatnamen een probleem met Osmarender. Hier kan ik helaas niets aan doen buiten een andere renderer gebruiken. De exacte namen (van reeds getagde straten) zijn voor de mapping party ook niet zo belangrijk denk ik. --Gyrbo 21:36, 18 January 2008 (UTC)

Ik had het niet gelezen. Het is niet extreem belangrijk, maar als het dan al correct is, hoeft het niet meer genoteerd te worden. Ik had de indruk dat het op de vorige versie beter ging. Misschien had een vorige versie van Osmarender dat probleem nog niet? Ik ben maar aan het gokken.

Je hebt je wijzigingen blijkbaar nog niet on line gezet. Ik zie ze niet in Potlatch. Of was dat niet de bedoeling? --Polyglot 21:40, 18 January 2008 (UTC)

Ik woon in Tildonk, blijkbaar op 2 km van u. Ik ben zelf bezig met groot Haacht te doen. Van al die in de buurt van Leuven lijkt ik het dichtste richting Haacht - Kampenhout te wonen. Het is dan misschien het gemakkelijkste dat ik die buurt doe. -- Kurt Roeckx 18:58, 4 May 2008 (UTC)

Geen probleem. Ik ben de laatste tijd nogal weinig met OSM bezig. Ik zal in de toekomst mij voornamelijk richten op groot Herent. --Gyrbo 10:38, 7 May 2008 (UTC)

Missing file information

Hello! And thanks for your upload - but some extra info is necessary.

Sorry for bothering you about this, but it is important to know source of the uploaded files.

Are you the author of image File:Mechelen.png ?

Or is it copied from some other place (which one?)?

Please, add this info to the file page - something like "I took this photo" or "downloaded from -website link-" or "I took this screeshot of program XYZ".

Doing this would be already very useful.

Licensing - photos

In case that you are the author of the image: Would you agree to open licensing of this image, allowing its use by anyone (similarly to your OSM edits)?

In case where it is a photo you (except relatively rare cases) author can make it available under a specific free license.

Would you be OK with CC0 (it allows use without attribution or any other requirement)?

Or do you prefer to require attribution and some other things using CC-BY-SA-4.0?

If you are the author: Please add {{CC0-self}} to the file page to publish the image under CC0 license.

You can also use {{CC-BY-SA-4.0-self}} to publish under CC-BY-SA-4.0 license.

Once you add missing data - please remove {{Unknown|subcategory=uploader notified March 2022}} from the file page.

Licensing - other images

If it is not a photo situation gets a bit more complicated.

note: if you took screenshot of program made by someone else, screenshot of OSM editor with aerial imagery: then licensing of that elements also matter and you are not a sole author.

note: If you downloaded image made by someone else then you are NOT the author.

Note that in cases where photo is a screenshot of some software interface: usually it is needed to handle also copyright of software itself.

Note that in cases where aerial imagery is present: also licensing of an aerial imagery matter.

Please ask there if you are not sure what is the proper next step. Especially when you are uploading files that are not your own work or are derivative work (screenshots, composition of images, using aerial imagery etc).
