User talk:Rtfm/namespace overview
Support this broad idea
I support the broader idea of using namespaces rather than single keys/values to map places that offer sales, rentals, service, etc. of specific goods.
Using nampespaces enable two fundamentally important things: (1) a single object can be tagged indicating that it offers multiple {something for sale, rent, repair, etc.} and (2) mappers can tag places that DO or DO NOT offer {something for sale, rent, repair, etc.} i.e., with the value of =yes/no.
Presently I don't know of any other tagging scheme that supports both of those goals.
I appreciate that the user that created this page/suggestion may have been edit warring (causing them to be blocked); I don't condone that but I do think the idea of broader adoption of namespaces is a fundamentally good idea and should be more widely used and accepted. -Osmedit (talk) 20:53, 23 October 2025 (UTC)
