Introduction
WasteFreeMap is a global map for separate waste collection. The tool aims to improve waste processing efforts and promote sustainable practices by utilizing a collaborative mapping platform based on OpenStreetMap (OSM) data.
Features
- Collaborative Mapping: Based on OpenStreetMap data, WasteFreeMap allows users to contribute specifically to recycling data.
- User Contributions: Users can upload photos, add detailed descriptions, rate, and comment on recycling points. Note that these contributions (photos, ratings, and comments) remain within WasteFreeMap and are not exported to OSM.
- Daily Data Imports: OSM data is imported daily using docker-osm. The imported tags include those defined on the OSM Tag: amenity=recycling page.
- Accessibility: The platform is accessible via PCs and phones as a progressive web app without the need for additional app installations.
