Import of Police Stations in Haiti

Background

Pacific Disaster Center provides a list of police stations in Haiti. OSM is allowed to import it.

Jan Tappenbeck wrote the scripts and run the import. - done by using csv2osm_local (german discription).

create a script which converts the excel sheet in an OSM files with nodes. Find a reasonable mapping onto OSM tags. amenity=police is likely to be used.

create a script which checks whether there is already a mapped police station in the neighborhood of one of the police stations in the PDC list. +/- 0.003 to build a square with the police stations position in the center is a qood starting point.
