La chiave inscription=* è usata per il testo di iscrizioni presente su edifici, memoriali, pannelli segnaletici e altri ogetti vari.

Come mappare

"Inscription" rappresenta il testo fisicamente riportato sull'oggetto in causa nel modo reale.

| o la barra obliqua / possono essere usate per inserire un a capo (  line breaks) and || o la doppia barra obliqua // per una interruzione di paragrafo (  paragraph breaks) in base al tipo di guida preferito. Vi è un limite di 255 caratteri per ogni valore.

Referencing other data services

To overcome the length limit, the inscription might be added to:

• wikidata=* - If this feature has a Wikidata item, it can be described there using inscription (Property:P1684), as the character limit is set at 1,500.
• openplaques:id=<ID number> - If it is a commemorative/historical plaque, you can also add the full inscription to openplaques.org and then link the entry with the OSM object.
• inscription:url=* - URL where the inscription can be found on an external website; e.g. Wikisource (useful when the inscription is longer than the above limit).
