backrest:material=* is a compound key consisting of:

• backrest=*: Whether a bench has a backrest (or backrests).
• *:material=*: Describes the main material of a physical feature.

Description

On amenity=bench and leisure=picnic_table, specify what is the material for that the backrest of the bench (as opposed to material=* which specifies the "main" material of the bench, i.e. seating area)

Only add this tag if the backrest:material=* differs from material=*.

Examples

• 
  amenity=bench with material=metal + backrest=yes + backrest:material=plastic on a bus stop shelter
• 
  Bench using stone wall as a backrest (material=wood + backrest:material=stone).
