Along the overhead wires that power trains, trams and trolleybuses, there are localized components for operation, maintenance and safety. contact_line=* should only be used on nodes or short ways, unlike tags such as frequency=* and voltage=* which apply to longer sections of the overhead wire. Features are placed on/near ways or are ways with electrified=contact_line or trolley_wire=*.
